A heavy snowload on Wednesday morning (Jan. 12, 2022) caused the partial collapse of the garden centre roof at the Rona store in Penticton.

Members of the RCMP and Penticton Fire Department responded to ensure public safety. PFD assistant Chief Rob Trupp said all store staff was immediately accounted for.

PFD crews helped remove snow from the uncollapsed roof and clear snow from the entrance to the garden centre. The area was cordoned off and the store remained open.
