The host Penticton Vees can advance to the semifinals of the provincial peewee tier 2 hockey championships with a victory in their last round-robin game today at Memorial Arena.
Idle on Monday after splitting their first two games Sunday, the Vees take on Fort St. John at 8 a.m. The last round-robin game at the eight-team tourney is at 11 am. as Campbell River plays Quesnel.
The semifinals will be held later today at 5 and 8 p.m., with the winners advancing to the championship game Wednesday at 11 a.m. The losing teams meet for the bronze medal at 8 a.m.
The Vees opened the tourney with a 5-3 victory over Quesnel before losing 5-1 to Semiahmoo, who have clinched first place in Pool A and a berth in the semifinals.
In other games on Sunday, Mission beat Quesnel 5-1, Westside belted Campbell River 9-4 and Semiahmoo doubled Fort St. John 6-3.
On Monday, Cranbrook bounced Fort St. John 8-3, Westside trimmed Quesnel 5-3, and Campbell River defeated Mission 6-1.
