Global Spectrum announced the Beach Boys will play the South Okanagan Events Centre May 13.
Tickets cost $60 and $40, plus applicable service charges, and will be available beginning Friday at noon.
The current lineup includes original member Mike Love plus Bruce Johnston, who joined shortly after the band was formed in the early 1960s. Other members include John Cowsill (previously from The Cowsills), Scott Totten, Chris Farmer, Tim Bonhomme, Christian Love and Randell Kirsch.
Mike Love sang lead vocals on the majority of the Beach Boys hit singles in addition to sharing many writing credits. He always served as the frontman during concerts throughout the band‘s nearly 50-year run.
Johnston, often referred to as “the sixth Beach Boy,” is best known for penning I Write the Songs, which later became a No. 1 song for Barry Manilow.
Cowsill was part of his sibling‘s band that hit No. 2 on the pop charts with both Hair and The Rain, The Park and Other Things, and he later became a member of Tommy Toutone, which had a huge hit in 1981 with 867-5309 Jenny. He‘s married to Vicki Peterson of The Bangles.
