DUDA, MATT--Born October 1, 1920; passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 in Penticton. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Adeline; children, Ielean Dunlop, Mel (Lynn) Duda, and Len (Gloria) Duda; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by sister, Nellie; brothers, Alex and John. Matt was born in Keld, Manitoba and received his early education at Mountain Stream School. He farmed with his parents, Peter and Anna, until 1941, joined the armed forces and was stationed at Suffield, Alberta where he married Adeline Clarkson on April 2, 1945. Upon discharge, they returned to the family farm until 1956 and then moved to Dauphin where he worked as a mechanic at a farm implement business. In 1964, they moved to Penticton where he was employed at various jobs until 1980 when he began work at BC Tel a position he kept until retirement in 1986. A Celebration of his Life will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008, 1:30PM at the chapel of Everden Rust Funeral Services (1130 Carmi Ave., Penticton). Memorial tributes may be directed to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. John Surkan and the nursing staff of Westview Extended Care North.
