A sold-out field of 115 will tee it up for the 33rd annual Penticton and Friends Charity Golf Classic Saturday at the Penticton Golf and Country Club.
The practice round will go today at 2 p.m. with the tournament commencing Saturday at 11 a.m.
The event – which started out in as the Moog and Friends Celebrity Charity Golf Classic – has raised $1.3 million for local charities since its inception.
Vancouver media personality Perry Solkowski and several members of the Penticton Vees Junior-A hockey team are among those taking part.
A dinner and live and silent auction will follow the golf at the PG & CC clubhouse with jerseys, sticks, other sports memorabilia and a boat trip among the impressive list of items.
It’s a special year for the event with long-time Vancouver media personality John McKeachie serving as the emcee for the final time. McKeachie has been emcee every year since the event started.
