South Okanagan Flames ended the 2019 regular season on an incredibly high note, knocking off the league's top team.
Friday, at Memorial Arena, the Flames beat Kamloops Venom 18-10 in Thompson Okanagan junior lacrosse action.
Liam McLaren was the top scorer for the Flames with five goals plus three assists. Logan Cote added four goals and four assists and Carson Shortreed four goals and three assists.
Ben Olsen scored a hat-trick to go along with two assists. Zander Torres had a goal and five assists. Colin McGregor rounded out the scoring with a goal and one assist.
Trey Dergoussoff was the top scorer for the Venom with five goals and three assists.
The Flames are now on hold until July 6 when they open the league semi-final in Oliver. The Flames face Vernon in a best-of-three semi-final. Kamloops, meanwhile, awaits the winner of that series.
