One man is dead after two motorcycles collided Friday night in Oliver.

Police say witnesses saw the two bikes speeding east on Fairview Road, when one of the riders unexpectedly turned in front of the other, causing both to crash.

A 44-year-old man was found unresponsive at the scene and taken to South Okanagan General Hospital, where he was declared the dead. The other rider, a 33-year-old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police have not released the name of the victim and are awaiting the results of a traffic analyst’s report to determine if charges are warranted.
