One of Oliver’s native sons is returning to become the town’s director of development services.

Randy Houle will take up the position July 3, after spending the past three years as a planner for the City of Penticton. He was with the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen before that.

He holds a master’s degree in planning from the University of Waterloo and a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of B.C.

"The Town has experienced recent development growth and interest leading to the need to hire a director of development services,” chief administrative officer Cathy Cowan said in a press release.

“I am confident that Randy will effectively manage the challenges that presents along with the development services team."
