The B.C. Corners Service has confirmed an elderly woman died in a fire May 29 at Riva Ridge Mobile Home Park.
Spokesman Andy Watson said in an email the investigation is still in its infancy and “will look to determine how, where, when and by what means the female decedent came to her death.”
The victim, a woman in her 70s whose name has not been released, was pulled from her burning home by firefighters and was said at the time to have suffered severe burns.
Firefighters struggled to get the upper hand on the blaze because Riva Ridge does not have fire hydrants.
