A 2.2 magnitude earthquake rattled the South Okanagan early Thursday morning.

Earthquakes Canada has released a report stating a 2.2 magnitude earthquake just south of Penticton is what rattled South Okanagan residents early Thursday morning.
Originally, it was believed a 1.5 magnitude earthquake at 1:38 at a depth of 7 kilometres, centered in Eureka, MO was the cause of what many residents described as a large "boom," followed by tremors.
The 2.2 magnitude earthquake struck at approximately 1:36 a.m., two minutes before Eureka's was reported.
