A second man has now been charged in connection with a police chase Tuesday on the Penticton Indian Reserve.
Dwayne Gabriel is accused of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and driving while prohibited.
He was allegedly behind the wheel of a vehicle that was brought to a halt by spike belts.
Gabriel has a lengthy criminal record, including multiple convictions for drug trafficking, and is behind bars pending his next court appearance June 19.
Lawrence Brown, who was alleged to have been a passenger in the vehicle, was captured after a short foot chase.
Police released Brown’s mugshot on Monday in a bid to arrest him on warrants.
Court records show Brown is charged with assaulting a police officer with a weapon, dangerous driving, mischief, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence and theft under $5,000. The offences are alleged to have occurred over the past month in Penticton and Summerland.
Brown is behind bars pending his next court appearance June 26.
