Construction activity in Penticton continued at a frenzied pace in April.
City staff issued permits for work valued at $23 million, more than double the $9.8 million seen last April.
It lifted the total through the first four months of 2019 to $69.9 million, well up on $47.4 million in the year-ago period.
April’s totals were buoyed by permits for five multi-family projects worth a combined $16.2 million, which will create 56 units of housing.
Single-family homes were the next richest category at $3.3 million for five units.
Just a third of the way into the year, Penticton is almost halfway to the $145.1 million worth of permits issued in all of 2018.
