City of Penticton officials have clarified statements included in a brief article on electrical disconnection notices that appeared on page A3 of Friday's Herald.
Only those customers who have had accounts in good standing for the previous 12 months, and have a valid phone number listed on their account, will receive an initial "mild" disconnect notice by automated phone call prior to a regular mailed disconnect notice.
Those receiving a mild notice will not be given any additional time to pay their outstanding bill. They will be granted the same time allocation as those receiving a regular disconnect notice.
