Events marking the start of the holiday season were held Friday in Vernon. Teresa Kisilevich helps her daughter Jordyn, right, and her friend Arielle Vance toast some marshmallows while they wait for the annual Christmas Light Up in downtown Vernon. The marshmallows were made available by Santas Anonymous and the fire was provided by Vernon firefighters.
