Hen session at Council tonight Subscriber

Almost two dozen Penticton residents who have qualified to raise backyard hens, will be seeking final city council approval this evening. Council will decide on temporary use applications from 23 residential property owners throughout the city who responded to council's 18-month backyard hen pilot project proposal endorsed in January. No more than five hens and no roosters may be kept on site. Also on council's agenda is a final decision on an application by The Mule Nightclub to extend its hours of operation to noon to 3 a.m. from the existing 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. schedule. The public will have an opportunity to comment. The council meeting starts at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
