E-mail Print PDF
Lakhvinder Jhaj is pictured in a 2009 file photo. She is running in Abbostford South after coming close to knocking off John Slater in Boundary Similkameen in the last provincial election.
Former Penticton resident Lakhvinder Jhaj will be the NDP nominee for Abbotsford South in the next provincial election.
Jhaj, who previously owned a convenience store in Penticton, ran unsuccessfully in the Boundary Similkameen riding in 2009, losing to Liberal John Slater by less than three per cent.
In 2005, she lost the Penticton NDP nomination to city councillor Garry Litke. Jhaj also ran unsuccessfully for Penticton city council.
She will challenge former Liberal turned independent John van Dongen in Abbotsford South. Criminologist Darryl Plecas is among those seeking the Liberal nomination in the riding.
