A legendary Canadian rock 'n roll band will be headlining at the 2013 Penticton Peach Festival.

Honeymoon Suite, sponsored by Peters Bros. Paving, will be on the Okanagan Lake Park main stage on Thursday, Aug. 8.

During their 30-year career, Honeymoon Suite has recorded two, triple platinum albums; one, double platinum album; and two gold records. One of their greatest honours was in 1986 when they won the Juno Award as Canada's Group of the Year.

Bill Kolter, the Peach FestivalÕs entertainment director, said he is excited to have Honeymoon Suite on the schedule this year.

"What a great band," Kolter said. "Where else can you see one of Canada's all-time great bands with no admission charge? We owe a huge thanks to Peters Bros. Paving."

During the 1980s, Honeymoon Suite charted 15 hit singles in Canada, including 'What Does It Take', which reached No. 1 across the country.

The group also made its mark in the U.S. with four songs in the Billboard Hot 100. 'Love Changes Everything', 'New Girl Now', 'Feel It Again', and 'What Does It Take' were hits on both sides of the border.

Original lead singer Johnnie Dee has been with Honeymoon Suite since its inception. Several of their songs have been used in movies including the theme song from the Mel Gibson blockbuster "Lethal Weapon."

The 66th annual Penticton Peach Festival is scheduled for Aug. 7-11. For further information go to peachfest.com.
