Rotation Time at Penticton’s Tumbleweed Gallery
“Blossom” is the newest exhibition of work by the 7 member artists of the Tumbleweed Collective. In keeping with the onset of summer, the theme is growth and bloom time, in the landscape and in the artists’ work.
Tumbleweed’s policy is to mount a completely new show every six months. “Blossom” will open on Thursday, June 20, with a reception from 5-8 pm. Fresh work from Lyse Deselliers, Vikki Drummond, Jessie Dunlop, Jolene Mackie, Liz Marshall, Carol Munro and Kirsten Robertson. Come and meet the artists and see what they have been doing in their studios since last November.
A special add-on to this opening reception is the presentation of “Budding Artists”, a juried selection of paintings by 4 young local artists (ages 16-18) whose work will be showcased alongside the member artists’ exhibition.
The Opening Reception is Thursday, June 20, from 5-8 pm, with presentation of the youth artwork at 7:00. Tumbleweed Gallery is at 452 Main Street. 250-492-7701 tumbleweedgallery.ca
And on the same occasion, to round off a fine and full summer evening of art, take in the “Hello Summer Artwalk”, a cooperative event featuring a walking tour of the downtown galleries. Thursday June 20 from 5-8 pm.
